For those who are going the route of getting a local Singaporean prepaid 
SIM card:

Looks like that https://topup.starhub.com/preorder/ is a great deal. 
 From the website, it appears that the $18 credit can be used for 2x 
7-day 1GB data plans @ $7 each = $14, with $4 to spare for SMS or other 
miscellaneous charges? And it gives you a local Singaporean number, for 
as long as it lasts (so to speak...well, specifically, 180 days, but the 
fine print says it can be extended with a top-up)?

That one seems better than the M1 tourist card (identical to Klook link 
I originally posted), in that the M1 tourist card seems to die in 5 days 
or 10 days, with no renewal possibility.
