my question for you, hrvoje, is where is good coffee nearby. have tried

Aghhh… Finding good coffee is more of a pain than entering the country :D Huggs coffee is pretty good, there should be a few outlets relatively nearby – the owner is Italian, they have an outlet next to our office, so I chat with him from time to time. Also, Oriole in Capitol Plaza might be ok. If you like Vietnamese coffee, there’s excellent Trung Nguyen at Marina Bay Sands.

And as Sebastiaan hinted, there’s a huge local coffee culture, but it’s very different from Western coffee culture :) If you’re feeling adventurous, get to any local food court, find the drinks stall and order “kopi o” (koh-pee oh) – that’s plain black coffee, but very sweet. If you want it without sugar, “kopi oh kosong” (koh-song). Most locals drink coffee with condensed milk, “kopi c” (koh-pee see).
