Good afternoon,

A number of attendees have reported issues using the ietf-hotel wireless network while in their guest rooms. After extensive diagnostics, working with the hotel internal staff and the support team for the hotel's hardware, we believe we have resolved the issue.

For those interested in details: Since our last visit, the hotel has upgraded the guestroom network infrastructure. A new element in that infrastructure (the OLT) incorrectly identified the IETF's level of multicast and broadcast as a storm, and suppressed it. This lead to a number of unexpected and undesireable IPv4 connectivity issues. With its lesser reliance on broadcast, IPv6 was largely unimpacted.

Just a reminder: If you have any network issues, please send email to tickets@meeting.ietf.org<mailto:tickets@meeting.ietf.org> or come see the Helpdesk in Square Dorchester.

Our apologies for the disruption in service, and thanks for the patience while we worked to resolve it.

Thank you
