If I can buy an airline ticket for same day travel, I ought be able to sell an existing ticket to someone else at least a week in advance.

Re-selling tickets would solve many other problems we experience from airlines. It would provide the badly needed competition that would encourage airlines to provide a service that customers want to buy as opposed to the services they’ve negotiated with regulators.

I recently bought tickets to the Newport Folk Festival. The tickets were sold out but there was a healthy resale market. Many of you have probably also experienced this with tickets to sporting events, broadway shows, etc.

I propose that every person in the world change their name to Pat Smith.
