Grad students have this frightening habit of learning new skills in light speed from each other…  There are some basics about microphone placement, level control, lighting (if you want to be seen), etc. that amazingly most people haven’t learned in high school and that you best learn from someone who has mastered (*) them, but these then also help in synchronous meetings.

Providing a common tool such as an off-meeting instance of meetecho could have the nice effect that the videos won’t be competing on production quality (but, one hopes, on content).
