The jabber scribe position can be useful as a signalling mechanism that contributions coming in via chat are still important.

I was scribe for a WG yesterday, and missed relaying a comment from Stephen; luckily the fact that the jabber chat was all in meetecho made it easy for someone else to pick it up.
