Welcome to IETF 114, hosted by Comcast and NBCUniversal.

We are expecting over 1200 participants, with half participating onsite in Philadelphia and the other half participating remotely, from all over the world.

Thank you to Comcast and NBCUniversal for hosting and putting on a great social event, and thank you also to our Gold Diversity and Inclusivity sponsors, Akamai and Cisco, our Silver sponsor, Huawei, and to our Bronze sponsors, Comcast, Donuts, Verisign and CNNIC. Also a big thanks to our Connectivity Sponsors, Comcast, Hurricane Electric and Netrality Data Centers.

To help you get the most from this meeting, there is a table of useful reference information below.

This 114all list is used for administrative announcements by the IETF Chair, the Secretariat, the NOC, and myself, the IETF Executive Director. It will be used sparingly.

Again, welcome and have a productive meeting.

Using Meetecho

Meetecho is the platform for all IETF 114 sessions, including the Plenary, and all participants will need to join Meetecho to participate, either via "Meetecho Lite" onsite or via a WebRTC enabled browser remotely. Meetecho has been recently updated in order to manage the new hybrid meeting model, so we recommend you review the guidelines before sessions begin. If you are onsite, please take particular note of the "Meetecho Lite" information about how to join a queue and sign bluesheets from a mobile device.

Using Zulip

Zulip is the messaging system used for IETF 114 sessions. If you use Meetecho then this integrates directly with Zulip and you do not need a separate client. Instructions <https://www.ietf.org/how/meetings/groupchat/> are provided if you wish to use a standalone Zulip client.

Onsite Participants

There are a number of changes to the onsite meeting experience made to manage the hybrid meeting experience, as well as due to COVID safety protocols. Health and safety related information can be found in the FAQ.

Please also keep in mind that Philadelphia is a big city and, as with any urban area, there exists some level of crime in all areas. Please beware of your surroundings. We also recommend removing your meeting badge when outside of the venue.

Bluesheets

There are no paper bluesheets at IETF 114. To sign the bluesheets, please join the working group session via the new, mobile-friendly ‘Meetecho lite’ interface.

Mic queues

Before standing up at the microphone, you must first enter the queue using "Meetecho Lite" on your mobile device (or computer) while in the meeting room. The queue will include both onsite and remote participants together.
