Not responding to John directly here since his point is clearly a reference
to what was said earlier, but...

In my experience, when people start saying 'we are not the experts here',
what they are in effect saying is 'nobody can contradict me'. Which is not
the same thing at all.

I am not an expert in everything but if I think something is important I
can and do get access to one in pretty much any field.
