More than a slight correlation, I would say.  Good ventilation is key to infection control for *any* airborne virus in a congregated space.  If you can't ventilate with outside air, then installing good biofilters in the circulation path is the next best thing.

One of the major reasons why influenza outbreaks occur seasonally during winter is that we spend a lot more time indoors with the windows shut.  Influenze is another airborne virus, just like COVID in that respect.  Same with the "common cold", which is actually a diverse range of virus types producing similar symptoms, which include coronaviruses.
