The following errata report has been submitted for RFC5121, "Transmission of IPv6 via the IPv6 Convergence Sublayer over IEEE 802.16 Networks". -------------------------------------- You may review the report below and at: http://www.rfc-editor.org/errata_search.php?rfc=5121&eid=1768 -------------------------------------- Type: Technical Reported by: Daan Pareit <daan.pareit@intec.ugent.be> Section: 6.3 Original Text ------------- The Len parameter has a size of 11 bits. Hence, the total MAC PDU size is 2048 bytes. Corrected Text -------------- The Len parameter has a size of 11 bits. Hence, the total MAC PDU size is 2047 bytes. Notes ----- There are 11 bits for indicating the size of the MAC PDU, thus according to me this indicates a maximum size of (binary) 111 1111 1111, which equals (decimal) 2047 (2**11 - 1). The maximum of 2047 is also cited in the book "Fundamentals of WiMAX" by Jeffrey G. Andrews, Arunabha Ghosh and Rias Muhamed on page 48: "The maximum frame length is 2,047 bytes, which is represented by 11 bits in the GMH." Kind regards, -- Daan Pareit PhD student IBCN, an IBBT research partner Ghent University Department of Information Technology Gaston Crommenlaan 8 box 201 9050 Ghent, Belgium E-mail: daan.pareit@intec.UGent.be Tel. +32 (0) 9 33 14981 Secr. +32 (0) 9 33 14900 Fax +32 (0) 9 33 14899 WWW: http://www.ibcn.intec.UGent.be WWW: http://www.ibbt.be Instructions: ------------- This errata is currently posted as "Reported". If necessary, please use "Reply All" to discuss whether it should be verified or rejected. When a decision is reached, the verifying party (IESG) can log in to change the status and edit the report, if necessary. -------------------------------------- RFC5121 (draft-ietf-16ng-ipv6-over-ipv6cs-11) -------------------------------------- Title : Transmission of IPv6 via the IPv6 Convergence Sublayer over IEEE 802.16 Networks Publication Date : February 2008 Author(s) : B.
