As requested.... To make this work (as a client running XP)- associate with the ipv6-only SSID open network properties for wireless and open TCPIP for IPv4, and set some static IPv4 address in either the 172.31/16 network or 169.254/16 network, with default mask and no default gateway. set a static DNS entry pointing to either 169.254.71.71 or 172.31.71.71, whichever is on the same network as you defined your PC to be on. issue ipconfig /flushdns in command prompt to clear your existing DNS cache entries cross your fingers and hope it works... Oh, and bug anyone you see at IETF with Microsoft on their badge to fix this in XP service pack 3! Dave, I'm glancing in your direction ;-) Thanks, Wes _________________________________________ Wesley George Sprint IP Engineering 703-689-7505 (O) 703-864-4902 (PCS) http://www.sprint.net _________________________________________ -----Original Message----- From: Dave Thaler [mailto:dthaler@windows.microsoft.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2008 5:03 PM To: George, Wes E IV [NTK] Subject: RE: [71attendees] IPv6 on a Windows XP?
