Some blame the pilot, some the user interface.  I think people's main  
job at the mic is to make their point plainly, not to cajole the RFID  
reader into recognizing them.  Although it's best when it works  
straight off, from my POV the next best is for the speaker to give up  
without breaking stride, make his or her point, and move on.  YMMV of  
course.
