As well as to see the names of (relative) newcomers in WG's.  Most people
tend to say their name really quickly.  If the sensetivity of the device
could be improved a little such that one doesn't have to swipe it, it'd
even be better.

I don't quite understand the privacy concerns.  People go to a public
meeting, have their name on the list of attendees, have their names in
the minutes as soon as they speak up and walk around with a name tag.
If this causes concerns for you, then you shouldn't show but rather
listen remotely to the audio stream (from an internet cafe, of course,
wearing a brown bag on your head).
