Brings back memories of me having status of 'stateless' on my green card when I moved to US as a child.  Noone seemed to know that this was a real status.  I'd hate to have that status now (and don't).  Guess it taught me patience for traveling delays no matter what they are (I was *always* pulled over in my early 20's when driving to Canada).
