I checked "business" coming into Toronto. I don't think the agent even read it. She asked the purpose, and I said "the IETF conference in Quebec." She asked if I was presenting. I told her I was paying to attend, and that seemed to be the magic words. She asked me how I was getting to Quebec, then sent me on my way.
