In the past few years since the Canadian government started swapping 
judicial records with the US government.  Canada has gotten a reputation 
in recent years for turning tourists back at the border if they have a 
long forgotten drunk driving conviction.

I have heard of this in the case of tourist travelers.  There has been 
significant discussion of this on radio talk shows.  I haven't heard one 
way or the other whether they do the same for business travelers.
