And I. Similar experience. It would have been tough in City West in Dublin, because the alternate hotels were a distance away, but in most cases the alternate hotels that are also the obvious "walk-to" hotels and are near at hand. If there is anything to draw out of all this, I would think it is thinking seriously about Dave's comment re contracts, and the IAOC making sure that such backups in fact exist and are reasonable when it books a hotel.

And IETFers being a little more flexible. Sometimes I really scratch my head about discussions on the attendee lists...
