When I attempted to check-in Monday morning, the Hotel informed me there was a large gov't contingent holding the rooms and they would be checking out late.

I was unable to check in until Monday evening (6:30). A bit of a pain having a arrived on an overnight flight.

The overbooking seemed to be because of multiple conferences rather than overbooking by IETF attendees.

Note to self: next time I fly overnight, I'll book the previous night at the conference hotel too (and apparently enjoy the walk on arrival).
