We???re enjoying excellent value food and drink, and cheap taxi fares around this beautiful city. If we were in a North American city, or perhaps London or Paris, we???d probably be spending at least $10 each more per person per day out and about, which translates to $500,000 or more of economic benefit to the city being visited. It???s a great city, a great IETF venue, and we get excellent value here.

The point I was making in a roundabout way was simply that the (very slim) chance of being pick pocketed for perhaps a few hundred dollars (or its equivalent) is more than outweighed by the cheaper cost of living here. We’re all better off - on average - for coming to Prague as opposed to other more expensive venues, where you could be just as likely to be pick pocketed. It’s also a great city and a great meeting venue.

I would hope that the cost of travel and subsistence to the attendees is a factor in venue selection. I would hope we come back to places like Prague more commonly.
