While I prioritize not checking luggage, when I do, I end up taking a
relatively cheap knife with me.

Much of the talk online agrees on knives on checked luggage being ok, but
there's a fear that if you have a knife in the suitcase the likely hood of
it being searched is high, and if the knife is really nice then the likely
hood of it being "confiscated" is high as well.

I think I read somewhere a suggestion to lock nice knives to the inside of
the suitcase somehow so they're not easily stolen.

Hey Benson, do you expect to get a lot of Amazon packages in Prague? Or are
you just planning for fruits and cheese? :-)

Maybe the IETF Host can give away branded knives and then you wouldn't have
to carry one there in your suitcase.
