Hello IETF 96 Companions!

This mailing list is for your use to connect with other IETF 96 Companions. It is now less than a week until we'll see you in Berlin, Germany!

Some things to note:

The venue for IETF 96 is the InterContinental Berlin, Budapester Str. 2, 10787 Berlin, Germany. Tel: +49 30 26020

Weather conditions (https://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=berlin%2C+germany) in Berlin generally run in the 70s and 80s fahrenheit (20-30 celsius) this time of year with occasional rain.

The Companions will have the traditional IETF Companions Reception on Sunday, July, 17, 2016 from 4:30pm-5:30pm (local time). The reception is currently scheduled in the Kaminzimmer room which is on the Lobby level of the hotel, next to the LA Cafe.

After the Companions Reception, you are welcome to join the IETF 96 Welcome Reception (which is scheduled to go from 5:00pm-7:00pm local time). The Welcome Reception will be in the Wintergarten Conservatory and Pavillion - the area directly in front of the Kaminzimmer room.

The IETF Registration Desk will be in the Potsdam Foyer, Lobby level. The IETF Lounge, which opens on Monday July 18, 2016, (where Companions are welcome to sit at any time it is open as a lounge) will be in the Pavillion.

Also available for more information is the IETF 96 Meeting Wiki page: https://www.ietf.org/registration/MeetingWiki/wiki/doku.php?id=ietf96 that includes information on finding a supermarket, restaurants, shopping, and also has information on airport transportation.

Information about bus/train tickets to travel around the city of Berlin can also be found on the meeting wiki (https://www.ietf.org/registration/MeetingWiki/wiki/doku.php?id=ietf96#public_transportation_and_area_maps).

In addition, the IETF Companions have a private Facebook group you are welcome to join if you haven't yet - lots of Companions connect through the group to travel and tour together: https://www.facebook.com/groups/185456914970392/ (you must be logged in to Facebook to view the group information and request to be added).
