John,
I learned from your previous email that you tend to "leave elegance to tailors and cobblers" ;+)
Multiple MDSCs do not preclude using common code. The important question is how many parents the child MDSCs /PNCs are talking to - one or many?.
My point is that because children should be prepared to serve multiple independent clients anyway they might as well serve multiple clients from the same domain. Furthermore, the discussion is whether it makes sense to have more than one MDSC per domain. My answer : Yes it does. Having MDSC per VPN is just one example. There could be an MDSC that is only concerned with handling failure restorations, which could be different from an MDSC handling client service manipulation requests, which is different from MDSC performing global optimization, bandwidth fragmentation removal, etc.

Cheers,
Igor

Igor,

Most VPNs of which I am aware maintain per VPN instance state and common code, and support an abundance of VPN instances.

Yours Irrespectively,

John
