OK. Happy to talk after a couple of weeks. In the meantime I’ve built a JWT voucher tool that is otherwise compatible with the vouchers we used during chicago hackathon. Below is an example signed using ES256:

Now that I’ve built some JWTs and experimented with some libraries I’m in a better position to have the PKCS7, JWT, vs CWT discussion on list.

Note 1) I’m aware that the ‘domain-cert-trusted-ca’ is bad. This is consistent with what we saw in chicago but you’ll note from the x5c header that that code is working correctly)
Note 2) “encoded” is base64-url encoding. Very simple to undo. You can still see the “.”’s so its easy to select out header, payload and signature.
