The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "AppleTalk Management Information Base II" <draft-ietf-appleip-mib2-02.txt> as a Proposed Standard. This document is the product of the IP Over AppleTalk Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Stev Knowles and Claudio Topolcic. Technical Summary This memo defines an experimental portion of the Management Information Base (MIB) for use with network management protocols in TCP/IP-based internets. RFC 1243 defines a set of MIB objects for managing the lower layers of the AppleTalk protocol stack, up to the Network layer. This memo defines additional objects that exist in the AppleTalk portion of the MIB. These objects provide for the management of the transport and session layers of the AppleTalk protocol stack, as well as extensions to the lower layers. This is achieved in an upwardly-compatable fashion. Working Group Summary There was no significant dissent in the working group that was not resolved. Protocol Quality This specification has been reviewed by the NM Directorate and by Claudio Topolcic, one of the Internet Area Directors. No implementations are known to exist.
