There is a difference between controlling the dais versus begging for time at 
the audience microphone.

My concern, based on the offered description, is that the presentation will be 
an exercise in unbounded boosterism.

Engineering is an exercise in discerning and selecting among tradeoffs.  This 
requires diligent efforts to acknowledge, understand and deal with downsides and 
well as upsides.
