I wrote up something very similar, and as noted, there was IM2000.

At this point, the consensus on this list as far as I can determine is
"Nothing will work, and if you think otherwise go implement it and
prove us wrong". So I'd suggest digging out an ANSI C compiler as your
only productive next step.
