This is good. I can see we will have several definitions of spam and we
need to. Spam is many things and certain technologies will have
strengths and weaknesses against each of those definitions. Once we have
a list of definitions we feel good about it will be much easier to
evaluate the the solutions.

Here's mine:

Spam is transmission of mass email without the prior explicit
authorization of the recipient.
