How about this text from the new revision to be published?

                 .......                         For example, there may be
     no indication to IP when a previously established communication
     channel becomes unusable.  In other words, "link down" triggers are
     often absent in wireless systems.  This lack can potentially break
     various assumptions that have been used for features designed for
     wired communication links, and cause failures or poor performance.
