Hi Donald and Babel-people,

One MANET chair happens to be lurking on this mailing list and has now brought this thread to the attention of his co-chair. The both of us are in agreement that there is merit in having a joint BABEL/MANET/(ROLL?) meeting on the subject of multicast, but we should of course solicit the opinion of the MANET WG as a whole. Personally, I would prefer such a meeting to take place at IETF 114 rather than at IETF 115. I am willing to present my take on what makes multicast over Mobile Ad Hoc Networks "different", including the case of MANETs over heterogeneous Layer 2 protocols and technologies. Would that help?

In practical terms, who would request the session slot, BABEL or MANET?

Thanks,
Ronald in 't Velt
(MANET co-chair)

P.S. Juliusz, I cannot tell you what "they" tell me, nor what I try to tell "them". (Well, I could, but then.... 😊
