There are longing standing desires for the same under ipv4... ;)

it even works some of the time, and sometimes pmtud works, sometimes
it doesn't.

my first experience with end-to-end 9k mtu's across the internet was
over a decade ago. Things have gotten a little better since then I
guess, or not.
