The IESG has approved the following document: - 'Explicit Tracking with Wild Card Routes in Multicast VPN' (draft-ietf-bess-mvpn-expl-track-13.txt) as Proposed Standard This document is the product of the BGP Enabled ServiceS Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Alvaro Retana, Deborah Brungard and Martin Vigoureux. A URL of this Internet Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-bess-mvpn-expl-track/ Technical Summary This document clarifies the explicit tracking procedures in Multicast VPNs. The existing documents are leaving ambiguity for some scenarios that are clarified by this document. In addition, the document provides new optimized procedures to request explicit tracking of individual flows when wildcard S-PMSIs are used. Working Group Summary There was no real controversy on this document. Some technical points have been discussed and resolved with the WG consensus. Document Quality There is no implementation yet. The draft-ietf-bier-mvpn has a normative dependency with this document. There was no opposition in the WG to progress the document without implementations to help the BIER document progressing. Personnel Stephane Litkowski is the document shepherd. Martin Vigoureux is the responsible Area Director.
