Hi Acee and Les,

There are a few alternatives for merging the drafts:
1). By protocol, BP and BIFT-ID advertisements in a protocol are merged. Thus, there are three drafts, one for IS-IS, one for OSPFv2 and one for OSPFv3. This seems consistent with IGP extensions for BIER such as RFC 8401 and RFC8444.
2). By function, BP advertisements in all protocols are merged into one draft and BIFT-ID advertisements in all protocols are merged into another draft. Thus, there are two drafts.
3). All related drafts are merged into one.

My preference is the order above.

Best Regards,
Huaimo

Oops – should have said 7 drafts – forgot to count both ospf/ospfv3.

Sorry Acee. 😊

Sandy -

You could do this per protocol or per function or a single draft for everything.

I suspect if you ask three different people you will get three different answers. 😊

Given that the BGP-LS content is protocol independent and the actual content of each functional draft is modest, I am inclined to say go for a single draft that combines all of the current 5 drafts (including expired BGP-LS).

But any approach which reduces the number of drafts would be an improvement.
