Hi,

This is off-topic so please reply privately if at all. I thought it might interest some people here.

For a recent small project, I wanted to directly compare CBOR and traditional TLV versions of the same protocol. To simplify this, I wrote a small Python3 module that provides tlv.dumps() and tlv.loads(). They handle pattern-driven encoding and decoding of Python objects as a TLV byte string.

If interested, see https://github.com/becarpenter/tlv (code plus issue tracker), and contact me by email.

Regards
   Brian Carpenter
