Indeed, there are many ways to do this.

Many specifications have the “private” (application-specific) code points in the keys of maps.  The alternative form
  
  Your Registered Tag({Private Number: Actual CBOR Object})

is a simple instance of this, but maybe you don’t even need the tag if the code point space is clear from the context.

Right, and tag 1010 is there, registered and ready to use.
