F.Y.I.
This profile consist of four components that together is intended to support applications of the kind that are currently based on OpenAPI and JSON.

- CBOR subset: https://cyberphone.github.io/javaapi/org/webpki/cbor/package-summary.html#supported-objects

- Encoding profile: CDE modulo NaN payloads

- Support for bidirectional diagnostic notation: https://cyberphone.github.io/javaapi/org/webpki/cbor/package-summary.html#diagnostic-notation

- Support for URL/URI based object identifiers: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-rundgren-cotx-04.html

Based on the findings expressed in https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/cbor/5HrUqIfNDJ2UsgWqLEwoX7pH2eQ/ it is assumed that this profile is sufficient for just about any high-level design, including Open Banking APIs and digital wallets.

Although not a part of the profile, I imagine that many implementations will be based on a wrapper concept, uniting the encoder and decoder: https://github.com/cyberphone/CBOR.js?tab=readme-ov-file#cbor-components

thanx,
Anders
