For what concerns me, I just see this appendix as a place in which an 
explicit encoding for "m" (the value of slot width) is given, hopefully 
giving some idea of the range of values that are "acceptable". I did not 
draw any other analogy between that appendix and label format (be in 
WSON or SSON)
