I think this is basically what we'd want to, _provided_ that the new 
families did not need more information added to the header. I can easily 
see a family that required specifying speaker/capture positions (e.g., 
something CLUE-like).

But I'm not in a rush to go down that path. I just want to leave the 
door open should we need it. Let's keep things simple for now.
