CoRE WG,

We updated the SenML data value content-format indication draft to address the challenges with base values presented at the IETF 104 CoRE session. 

This version proposes to use the same “ct” SenML field for both content-format IDs and content-types with content-coding (with a new syntax to indicate -coding in the same string field). This simplifies the handling of “ct” significantly but OTOH this would be now first SenML field that can have integer or string values. In the original design we wanted to avoid this for the value (v*) fields for efficiency reasons. But for the ct metadata field this does not seem to be such a big concern. Your input on this design choice and the new syntax (e.g., “application/json@deflate”) is highly appreciated. 

The authors believe this version is ready for WG adoption.
