Dear deepspace and CoRE communities, Please find below the main pointers to the updated version (-01) of the "CoAP in Space" draft. The main changes are: - The scope of the draft has been extended. The current scope comprises spatial environments characterized by long delays and intermittent communication opportunities. In addition to deep space, the scope now also includes some scenarios based on LEO satellites that offer discontinuous coverage with support of store-and-forward operation. - New section 4 on Caching. - New section 7 on CoAP group communication. - Other improvements after comments from several participants (see Acknowledgments section; many thanks to all!). Comments are welcome and appreciated! Cheers, Carles and Sergio ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: <internet-drafts@ietf.org> Date: Mon, 8 Jul 2024 at 09:52 Subject: New Version Notification for draft-gomez-core-coap-space-01.txt To: Carles Gomez <carles.gomez@upc.edu>, Sergio Aguilar < sergio.aguilar@sateliot.com> A new version of Internet-Draft draft-gomez-core-coap-space-01.txt has been successfully submitted by Carles Gomez and posted to the IETF repository. Name: draft-gomez-core-coap-space Revision: 01 Title: CoAP in Space Date: 2024-07-08 Group: Individual Submission Pages: 14 URL: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-gomez-core-coap-space-01.txt Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-gomez-core-coap-space/ HTMLized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-gomez-core-coap-space Diff: https://author-tools.ietf.org/iddiff?url2=draft-gomez-core-coap-space-01 Abstract: This document provides guidance on using the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) in spatial environments characterized by long delays and intermittent communication opportunities. Such environments include some Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite-based scenarios, as well as deep space scenarios. The document focuses on the approach whereby an IP protocol stack is used for end-to-end communication. The IETF Secretariat
