I do not have the impression that we will have completion on rd-dns-sd soon; actually progress is pretty much stalled right now due to high load on everyone in the author team (which shrank recently), who tend to see rd-dns-sd as second priority.

(As a co-author of RD, so without a chair hat:)

I don’t see any alternative to removing anything that would create a normative reference.
