I'm not going to die in the ditch over \u versus &#x. I'm simply concerned
that people will want to use & too often in "simple" state machines:

    Ready + REPLY -> WAITING : "Ring bell & sound horn";

If you can tell me your objection to backslash-escapes, perhaps we can find
an agreeable compromise.
