Miami University hopes to have the AIX dhcp server in full production by 1
July. We're also currently having trouble with Open Transport clients.

One thing you ought to do first, to make sure that you're not being served
the information and you just can't see it -- have Open Transport obtain its
IP address, and then open the TCP/IP control panel and set Edit | User Mode
to Basic. We've found that any other mode will display only the IP address
obtained.

Also, make sure you don't specify in the control panel any of the settings
that you want to be served to you.

Hope those suggestions aren't too basic.

While I'm on the topic, we've been having problems with the Open Transport
client losing TCP/IP service entirely after about half an hour after
receiving a DHCPACK, no matter what the lease time is. We were thinking it
might have been trying to renew, but the server doesn't show a packet
coming in at the time that the client loses service. Any clues?
