You got lots of good answers for 3Com and Cisco. I would point out that the
Bay/Wellfleet solution in Rev 8 was terrible, and in fact did end up
forwarding broadcasts (although only BOOTP packets as broadcasts). I have
heard that this was fixed in rev 10 and their solution there is similar to
the Cisco and 3Com solutions.
