Thanks to Yakov Rekhter and Jim Bound for replying to my
original note to this list.  

Once I realized that the dhcp-dns@bucknell.edu list existed, I
reposted there.  It is clearly a more appropriate place for this 
discussion.  About 10 messages on this thread have appeared there 
since.

Jim Bound may also take this to namedroppers for discussion.

Without a doubt.  And I'm the first to admit that I don't yet
understand everything needed to work through those issues.  But we are
starting to discuss some of those issues in dhcp-dns@bucknell.edu.
