We discussed and rejected time-to-die as a solution to this problem a couple 
of meetings back (I think in Tokyo) because we were concerned that if you do 
something like this, the effect is going to be a refresh storm as the time to 
die gets closer.   So I'm very interested to know that somebody has actually 
tried this experiment.

What's your experience with this - do you have any measurements about what 
happens in practice as the time to die approaches?
