Guys, Just to pick a random message on this thread to respond to, I think it would be Swell if a DHCP server could send back some configuration information for the benefit of an NTP server. If the information is "here's *a* server you should use" I would like to see that information be either an IP (v4 or v6) or a DNS name. If it is a *list* of servers, I would like to see that list contain any of IPs (v4 or v6) and/or hostnames. If it is more generic "ntp configuration information" then prehaps regardless of whatever other formats are proffered, I would be happy to see a URL as a choice. Also please remmeber that there is an excellent chance that there will be something in between ntp on the client and the incoming DHCP packet that "handles" the information and ntp may *never* actually directly talk to the DHCP server. OTOH, it might. If anybody cares, please visit (and comment if you like): http://support.ntp.org/Dev/GettingNtpdItsConfiguration H _______________________________________________ dhcwg mailing list dhcwg@ietf.org https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/dhcwg
