just a quick update on the side meeting today: we had total 8 attendees, 2 people online, 6 in person.
I summarize below some suggestions that we discussed during the side meeting (largely based on Monday DINRG meeting discussions), as an input to charter revision discussion.

DIN RG may consider taking on 4 major tasks:

1/ serving as the forum for all discussions/input collections related to internet centralization and mitigation developments.

2/ (utilizing the above inputs) collecting, developing, and maintaining a list of measurement tasks that can help quantify the centralization facts and consequences.
DIN RG participants may carry out some of the measurement tasks, but we would also like to motivate/encourage a broader community to join in and help out.

3/ developing new decentralized apps and systems, from these first hand experience to learn what it takes to build useful, and usable, decentralized solutions
(or in case we bump into a wall, figure out why)

4/ Collect a list of documents to write, with a basic goal of helping the broader community
i) better understand the problem space,
ii) examine various existing approaches to decentralization (how do they work? what foundations are they build on? could they be effective?)
iii) articulation of decentralization solution space
vi) your suggestions go here
The write-ups are not limited to internet-drafts; they can be long or short, that fit in different venues to reach public.

the above is from my poor memory; those who attended please help add/correct.
