The biggest worry I have is that this will lead to people who currently
design busted webforms who reject plussed addresses will start
accepting + but none of the other variants, under the impression
they're fixing something, and, worse, that they will then point to this
as some kind of weird justification for their brokenness.

Of course, people with the proverbially-dangerous "little learning"
have never been stopped by lack of justificatory documents....
