Greetings, I have submitted a new I-D as an independent submission to the RFC Editor, and the RFC editor has recommended to actually see if the I-D could go into the standardization track through the IETF instead. I am not sure if this email list is the correct one or not.. Please correct me if my approach is wrong. A summary of my submission: * /The file name of the published Internet-Draft /: draft-codere-ldapsyntax (current version: draft-codere-ldapsyntax-01) * /An assertion that no IANA allocation in the document requires IETF Review or Standards Action/: According to IETF RFC 4520 for syntax definition registrations, there are no expert group review required, except that the description of the syntaxes should be available so they can be added by IANA. * /A statement describing the purpose: /There are missing LDAP Syntax definitions in the original IETF RFC 4517 standard that may limit the scope of usage for certain types of LDAP applications. The objective is to register additional LDAP syntaxes so that they can be used. To ensure that these additional LDAP syntax definitions are widely available and not lost, decision was made to publish them as an I-D. Should this internet draft be considered for an IETF WG/discussion or should i confirm the submission to the Independent stream? Thanks for taking into consideration my email, Regards Carl Eric Codere
