Bitter experience has taught us that asking users to make security decisions
rarely turns out well. I can promise you that ten seconds after you implement
this, some Gmail user will say great, I can turn off the From munging, and
ten seconds after that, will complain that he's not getting list mail.

>Would this list implement ARC?

As you are surely aware, it will when the all of the IETF lists do,
which will be at some time in the future as part of a whole bunch of
mail software upgrades.

>Would this list offer a non-munged alternative to subscribers?

Alternative? I very much doubt it.

>Would this list's subscribers mark ietf.org as trusted and choose to receive
>non-munged messages?

How many subscribers do you think are using mail systems where they
have enough control to do that? You and me and hardly anyone else.

R's,
John
